Honor Thy Teacher

A donation to CAPE's Honor Thy Teacher program is a wonderful way to recognize a specific teacher, staff person or administrator who has helped make a student's school year brighter.  All donations support CAPE grants.

CAPE's Honor Thy Teacher program runs during the months of May and June, but you are welcome to make a donation at any time.

There are so many people in our schools who have a positive impact on our children every day. We are happy to honor them!

How it Works

How do I make a donation?

You can probably still remember that teacher who made you feel good about school. Maybe you gave him or her a gift or said thank you, or maybe you just wish you did. Chances are that an outstanding teacher or individual has inspired your child – maybe even your family – in some way this year or in past years. As the end of the school year approaches, what better way to give thanks than by making a donation to the Canton Alliance for Public Education (CAPE) to honor the teacher, who has made a difference in your child’s life?

Teachers and staff will be touched to know that a family has made a donation to the Canton Alliance for Public Education in their honor. The donation gives you a way to honor one or more exceptional teachers, specialists or administrators. You may want to consider recognizing a teacher from past years as well. Donations in any amount are acceptable – from $5 to $500! We will notify the honoree(s) of your gift without disclosing the amount. If you wish you may send a personal note to be included with the notification card along with your check Our “Honor Thy Teacher” campaign runs until the end of each school year. However, you may make a donation at any time. Please help us celebrate and honor Canton’s outstanding teachers.
Just click the "Donate" button below (or print out and mail in the downloadable form). With a minimum donation of $5 per person being honored, CAPE will send a personalized card to that individual. You may also choose to include a handwritten note to include with your card.

Canton High School students responding to a question about how improvements to the Home Base classroom that were funded by a 2019 CAPE grant have impacted them personally:
I can be more comfortable and get more of my work done.”
"It helps because it's more calm.”
“It lacks the usual oppressive feel of other classrooms.”
“There's more access to resources, such as Chrome books, and places where I can do work.”
“The changes make HB more comfortable and enjoyable. It feels like a safe place to be in.”
