About CAPE
CAPE is a non-profit community based foundation dedicated to enhancing Canton's commitment to excellence in public education. We encourage teachers to come up with innovative and productive programs that challenge students and teachers alike. We then provide the seed money, in the form of grants, to help teachers get these programs off the ground. CAPE is proud to have helped establish the first robotics programs in the Canton Public Schools. CAPE also provided the first Chromebooks and 3-d printers for the district. Other CAPE grants have been used to purchase musical instruments, books that celebrate cultural diversity and local history, and ADD/ADHD learning tables. CAPE grants have occasionally also paid for guest speakers, and one-time performances such as "The Yellow Dress" in the spring of 2013. This dramatic one-woman play presented the story of a young woman who was the victim of date violence.
Recent GrantsCAPE grants have payed for musical instruments and field trips, 3d printers and overhead projectors, books and guest speakers. We even helped to bring a petting zoo to the high school during finals week! None of these programs was funded by the operational budget. With significant cuts already impacting our school budget, CAPE’s mission is more important than ever.
